In a nutshell: I graduated from UC Berkeley in Psychology, started work as receptionist in UC's Personnel Office the next week, later coordinated job training programs on campus for low income folks and became campus affirmative action officer, then into HR management positions and finally administrative director in Housing Office...retired from UCB the day I turned 60. Love that place.
Within a year started Smooth Moves with a friend -- a packing and move coordination business with a special emphasis on senior citizens heading for retirement/assisted living/Alzheimers facilities...major upheavals.
Have been with my husband Paul for 27 years, not my first husband but surely my last. We are adjusting to his recent spinal cord injury which has left him wheelchair bound -- our life lessons never end. Crazy Berkeley has been home since age 17 and I still enjoy being surrounded by a community of people who, like me, stood at freeway exits waving Obama signs two years ago and continue to do so in our hearts.
It's great fun seeing stories from HHS pals and I hope to see many more!
