A resident of Mill Valley, California for thirty years, Bill passed away in December 2018 as a result of a stroke. After attending the College of San Mateo, he served in the merchant marine crewing coastal tankers from Alaska to the Gulf of Mexico for several years. He was then in the Navy during the Viet Nam War serving on the guided missile cruiser Oklahoma City.
Following that, he had a twenty-year career managing box offices for theater and sporting events in Oakland, San Francisco, Seattle and Honolulu. Later, he was in the hardware business in Marin County, CA. In retirement, he very much enjoyed fishing from his boat throughout the waters of San Francisco Bay and the Delta.
