Received a degree in chemistry from San Jose State University and worked in the wine industry in quality control for Gallo in California's central valley. As a member of the California National Guard, was mobilized to patrol and restore public order during the Watts riots in Los Angeles in 1964. Enjoys playing flamenco guitar and is presently living in Redwood City, California.
